If you are the winner your Katmai Bear Viewing Adventure will begin when you & your guest depart Anchorage on Regal Air's aircraft and head south along the Cook Inlet. This scenic 2.5 hour flight takes you on a route by 2 active volcanoes, numerous salmon streams, and glaciers on your way to Lake Clark Pass – a mountain pass used by bush pilots for years to get back and forth across the Alaska Range. Fly through this crack in the mountains and spot for sheep on the mountain sides. Landing at Katmai you begin to see why Brown Bears choose to make this place their home. Salmon streams, mountain backdrops, large lakes, and thick forests surround you on this excursion. After getting out of the plane you will go through a quick bear orientation with one of the park rangers. From there it is off to explore this bear country. A short walk through the park to a bear viewing platform which will provide you with shots of a lifetime of bears catching salmon as they make their way up Brooks Falls. After you spend a few hours bear viewing a hearty pack lunch will be served, and then it is back out to catch these bears in action.
